Security regulations

Stop! If you are a traveller like me you can't skip this article! Here you will find a list of the most important items you are allowed to bring with you during the flight in your hand baggage. Read more here.

Travelling is one the most important interests I have. What's more interesting than getting to know our beautiful world? Have you ever seen images about cities or lands on books or magazines, and tought afterwards: "I 'd like to go there"? I have them!
In fact, some years ago, I was fascinated by New York and finally my father and I went there. It was like a dream, believe me.

Summer 2006. This is the date of my last trip somewhere in the world. This year I went for the 4th time to the States, precisely to California. The first time was one year after the terrorist attack in New York on September, 11, that everybody can remember. What every year impresses me during my trips are the many Security Controls my father and I must pass to enter the USA and to come back home.
I remember that I had to take off my shoes, my jacket and my
belt, then to stand with my arms stretched out and pass through the metal detector. I also had to open my bag (just one bag each) and to show what I was carrying with me.
At that time there were no regulations to bring liquids, sprays, pastes, lotions, foams but the police were severe with every object that could injure anyone.
The reason why I decided to talk about these Security Controls, is because the many terrorist attacks, as you know, especially the first one in New York, have caused the stiffening of safety regulations at every airport. Moreover, before flying it is better if you read the new regulations because they keep on changing it. At the moment, if you fly to the UK or to the USA, you have to pay attention to some rules, otherwise you must leave some items at the airport.
Here you can find some important information:

1. All liquids, gels and aerosols must be in smaller containers. Big size products or larger containers that are half-full or toothpaste rolled up are not allowed. Remember also that you can't carry pots with liquid food. If you buy these items put them in your baggage and not in your hand luggage;

2. All liquids, gels, aerosols and liquid make-up products (in small
quantities) must be placed in a single zip-top clear plastic that you
receive at the chek-in;

3. Each traveller can carry only one handbag. Pack your bag trying to keep only the most important items you really need: you will be checked in faster.

To ensure the health and welfare of certain air travellers (medicines and food for children) there are no limits and you may carry them through a security checkpoint:

1. Baby formula and breast milk if a baby or small child is travelling;

2. All certified medical prescriptions (liquids, gels, and aerosols)
including KY jelly, eye drops, and saline solution for medical
purposes;

3. Liquids like water, juice or liquid nutrition or gels for passengers with a disability or medical condition.

Remember to separate these items from the others and to declare them at the security checkpoint.
I hope you understand that more controls and rules will make you fly in a safer way.
Have a beautiful trip… and flight!
