Another world

In this year my father visited China and especially Tibet for four weeks. It was the first time for him to stay in Asia.

The route began in Beijing with a sightseeing tour of the Forbidden City and old markets. At the second day he took the new train rail from Beijing to Lhasa the capital city of Tibet. After three days in train he discovered a lot of monastery and the world-famous Potala Palace. The Potala Palace was the chief residence of the Dalai Lama until the 14th Dalai Lama. Also interesting were the Bag Packer Hotels: Very lowly. The Lhasa highlight was the Shoton-Festival in August. There is a large poster (Thangka) with a picture of Buddha rolled out and the Tibetan throw prayer shawl on it.
After one week in Lhasa the journey continues with a land-rover use off-roads to the holiest mountain in the world: Kailash. On this tour saw my father the beautiful side of the Himalaya (yaks, seas, hill of drifted sand and more green as he thought), but he missed a view to the Mount Everest, because clouds on the sky cover him. He met a lot of very friendly countrymen.
There are large crowd of pilgrims going to Kailash every year. My father walked around the Kailash a route of 53km in three days. He has problems with the altitude difference from 4800m to 5600m. Headaches and tiredness were daily problems to be worth the trouble.
Finally the next part of the route was Kathmandu Metropolitan City in Nepal. Tibet and Nepal are very different. The country men of Nepal have a softer face, but also friendly like the human in Tibet. The country is very green, except Kathmandu City. The City is very loud and dirty, but it has nice monastery like Lhasa and the famous monkey’s palace. Kathmandu has a population of 701962 people.
The human in are extremely blushful. You can´t believe it, if you seen it by yourself. For my father was it the important journey in his life and an argument to travel.
The people are poor, but happy. They don´t have a lot of resource. Can we also live like this people and guard the world?
